The authentic Bridge Street Hokkien Mee has expanded their business to the latest hot spot in Penang at One Precinct, with the branch manned by the third generation of the Lau's family. The new business currently operating in a simple and modern lot with air-conditioning, thus providing a better ambience for its patrons. The opening of branch also ease its customers as we can now have the hokkien mee late in the evening, as the original stall only opens till 2:30pm.
Good thing is that the hokkien mee still maintained its competitive price at RM4.00 even though they are selling in a different setup. The hokkien mee at the new branch possesses almost identical taste to their originals at Jalan C.Y.Choy, with the fresh sweetness and clear soup still vividly tasted. Nevertheless, I still prefer the original ones prepared by the founder Mr. Lau, perhaps due to inexplicable psychology factors.
I tried their hokkien lor mee this round but it was just mediocre though. The hokkien mee is still the best with their unmatched soup.
