The chef has never been stingy to throw in a lot of elements - taukua, squids and tofu to his plate of Mee Goreng. This plate of Mee Goreng stood out among others due to its unique tomato sauce.
Do ask for extra spicy - "tambah pedas" if you could tolerate spiciness and your salivary glands will be greatly stimulated. You will enjoy when the plate of Mee Goreng is bedded in a mixture of chilli paste and tomato sauce.

A plate of reddish noodles served with a handful of squid (sotong) on top, this simple mee goreng could turn out to be very pleasant. The special fried sotong is well marinated, which gave it extraordinary scent and texture.
Order the extra spicy version and you should be prepared to incinerate your mouth and stomach. A long queue is expected especially during peak hour, and sometimes the waiting time could be half an hour long. Nevertheless you will be amazed by their strong memory.

Mee Goreng Jalil might looks plain but do not be deceived by it appearance. The strong wok-hei imparted by the experience chef using charcoal distinguished it to the other plain noodles. The adding of egg provided a decent level of moisture and extra spicy heighten the flavor.
One may opt for adding reddish squid as a side dish. It may take a little effort to locate the stall as it has no proper signboard but just a piece of white paper labelling Mee Goreng Jalil

Mee Goreng Mami is a Malay style fried noodles, manned by an enthusiastic mother chef and perhaps her daughters. It is served steamy hot, with slick of sauce looming the noodles. The pleasant taste largely derived from the tomato sauce being used, and add a slight lime sauce to provide a tangy sensation or neutralise the spiciness too.

Tucked within Mount Erskine Hawker Centre, this stall is manned by a young Indian chap whom speak Hokkien like a regular Hokkien and a Chinese lady. You will be surprise this modest Mee Goreng stall serves one of the Mee Goreng with a strong wok-hei in Penang.
It is more toward a dried version of Mee Goreng, with a handful of squids added. Sprinkles of fried shallots are a great add on to the noodles.

A plate of toothsome and reddish colored Mee Goreng is prepared by 2 Malay chefs in front of Sin Hong Leong coffee shop. The noodles are fried dried, and emits a strong wok hei with a little scent of tomato. The eggs are well blended and contributed to the smoothness of the noodles.
The chefs are very friendly and asked us if the level of chillies added would be intolerable by us because we requested for extra spicy. Fortunately, the spicy level tasted just great!
