Restoran Nasi Padang Minang @ Jalan Transfer

If I were going to take economy rice in town during lunch hour, Restoran Nasi Padang Minang will definitely be my top choice. Not only they serve excellent dishes but the varieties offered are vast. Nasi Padang Minang is an Indonesia cuisine origin from the Minangkabau in Padang, and they are famous for their chillies, curries and steamed rice.

Streaming across the array of dishes landed us in a very dilemma situation. The Minangkabau dishes have been displayed in such tempting arrangement, with the colour contrasting each others.

Moreover, the strategically located restaurant in the centre of town has made it a hot spot for dining. The crowd during lunch hours is bustling, to the extent moving around and finding a seat in the restaurant is difficult task.

One of their signature dish is sambal stuffed Mackeral topped with deep fried onion, which is almost a must pick for every patrons and it runs out pretty fast. The crispy deep fried onion, coupled with their sweet and slight spicy sambal Mackeral is extremely delight to be enjoyed, though it did not come cheap. One piece of sambal stuffed Mackeral as above cost us RM 7.

Our pick for the day - a piece of ayam marah, tempe, fried egg with onion, long beans and topped with mixture of curries. The above plate cost us RM10, and the portion was just nice for two of us.

On a sidebar note, the drink here is expensive. RM2.30 for a virtually tasteless longan water.
