Updated February 15th, 2017: Yume Matcha has relocated and house under Emperor Economy Rice with new menu of Matcha Presso to celebrate their 6th monthsary.
Yume Matcha was first established within vicinity of a Chinese temple just beside Heng Ee Secondary School and a textile factory. Then, it swiftly gone viral by mouth of word and social media. Recently, the small stall has shifted to the an economy rice restaurant - Emperor Mixed Rice at Jalan Tan Sri Teh Ewe Lim, Jelutong and the popularity has furthered spiked. More tables are provided to accommodate the patrons, and now they even sell their Matcha ice cream in big quantity!
The menu has been refined by offering 3 type of ice creams (Matcha, black sesame or espresso) in cones, waffle cones or parfait. The parfait version is much satiating so we opted for both Uji Matcha (RM 6) and Matcha Double Black (RM 7) The condiments layered below the ice cream are actually the same for both ice cream, consisting of red beans, matcha jelly, cornflakes, glutinous rice and rice puffs. The Matcha ice cream is smooth with vivid Matcha's bitterly aroma while the black sesame ice cream has lower sweetness level if compare to Matcha. I thought Uji Matcha stood out but Ee Pin favours Matcha double black more.

If you pick either waffles or cones, you get to enjoy the crispy cones or waffle texture which is another type of enjoyment. Make sure you have a fast tongue to withstand the ice cream coldness so you can finish it before it melts to your hand.
Uji Matcha cone and Matcha Double Black Cone are available at the price of RM 3 & RM 3.50 respectively.
The Espresso Matcha Ice Cream had their brewed Espresso mixed with Matcha Ice cream, and served along with Espresso brownies and Espresso jellies. Espresso flavor was fairly balanced within the ice cream. First touch of the ice cream revealed matcha taste and the aromatic Espresso scent gradually increase, with a hint of pleasant bitterness toward the end. For an ultimate enjoyment, eat the Espresso Matcha ice cream along with the brownies and jellies instead of having them as a single item.
Matcha Espresso price as below: Parfait (RM 13.90); Waffle Cone (RM 11.90) and Cone (RM 6.90)
If you are having Matcha craze, go for their premium Matcha with just an addition of RM 2! It has a much stronger Matcha taste, and the RM 2 is well spent to call for the differences.
