We started light with Smoked Duck Breast Salad. It is lightly scented by having the salad sauce whisked over it, and pamelo presence in the bowl of salad is the unique point.
Our tongue and appetite is further tickled by Crab Tortellini. Upon chewing, the fluffy tortellini discharges an aromatic crab essence, served on a curry flavoured prawn based soup.
Next on the menu is Breaded Button Mushroom. Encapsulated within the crumbs is a juicy fresh button mushroom, still retaining the best of its natural taste.
The conventional menu - mushroom soup never goes wrong whenever it is served. Its creaminess and buttery were perfectly tuned, while giving out rich mushroom taste.
Prawn Bisque served in La Vie is a creative combination of French essence and traits of local specialty dish - Penang Hokkien Mee. Prawn heads are simmered for at least 3-4 hours to extract its essence to make up the core of the soup, rendering the soup exhibits a pleasant charcoal smell.
After a series of stomach therapy session with delicate starters and appetizers, we are off for main dishes - Penne Pasta with Bacon. Slices of bacon are topping the light creamy pasta, emitting a decent scent of pleasant bacon smell.
Due to Raw Oysters aphrodisiac attribute and freshness, its of high demand here. Fresh oysters are imported bi-weekly on Wednesday and Saturday. Often times, the plump and succulent oysters presented a briny taste as it was served on its original taste upon being cracked.
|Well done Lamb Rack|
Our stomach was treated with a medium rare Lamb Rack. Mix and match with three different condiments provided - brown sauce, wasabi and sea salt to suit it up to own taste.
The Cod Fish is seared carefully to give it a flaky and firm flesh. It is lightly seasoned with a smattering of black pepper. At the same time, enjoy the side dishes of bedding of stiff homemade mashed potatoes and sauteed mushrooms.
Relish upon the Chargrilled Organic Chicken without having go through the hassle of grilling at your backyard. With charcoal grilling, a nice magical taste is imparted the rightly sliced meats.
The night party would have been imperfect if wines are absent. Ask for the person in charge on what types of wines available to cater for your own needs, in both taste and financially.
