RWMI Cafe Art Gallery @ Jelutong, Penang

The cafe trend has been wide spreading in Penang, with the recently opening of RWMI cafe in the Jelutong's new commercial lot - Nova Place. Upon stepping into the cafe, we were impressed with the elegance of Medieval European theme interior design on a comfy gold colour. Selection of food here is kind of quirky, as the one page menu offering various a la carte Chinese cuisine, tea and Arabica coffees. Nevertheless, the food taste alright to our taste buds although the price might be considered as slightly steep.

We asked the person-in-charge what does the abbreviation RMWI means and we were told it refers to "Rich World Marketing Investment". We would like to clarify by no chance we are affiliated with RMWI nor promoting them.

We were left in a slight bewilderment upon scanning through the menu. Most of the choices are meant to be eaten along with white rice, and that was not our intended meal for the afternoon.

Left with little choice, we ordered a bowl of Seafood Porridge (RM 18.90). It comes with a gigantic prawn that has the size equivalent to our palm, alongside with a generous amount or pork slices (We thought it was seafood porridge?). The porridge still had its rice granules intact, and the taste mostly derive from the seafood scent with no addition of pepper or soy sauce. Some might not like it but it was fine for us to enjoy the clear porridge.

Masak Merah Spicy Chicken + Rice (RM 18.90; set with a cup of honey lemon) is alright in the taste. The curry was well prepared, though we would prefer it to possess a much spicy taste and the amount of curry was inadequate to mix with the rice. The set comes with a generous quantity of 5 pieces of chicken meat and some pickled vegetables.

We loved the complimentary Honey Lemon Tea with the set and the Rose Cappuccino (RM 10.90) was well brewed to have a nice rose scent.

On the other hand, cheese cake was a disappointment. Though we can feel the cheese scent but the overall texture was too dried for our liking.
